Break free from the usual restraints of web development

Freelancer Theme is a project I've been dedicating myself to for a while now. I wanted to create a theme that gave power to the average user – and did it in style. Pricing and more details coming very soon.

Oh, and of course, it's WordPress 3.0 ready!

Freelancer Theme 1.0 Features

Search Engine Friendly

Freelancer Theme has an excellent search engine friendly framework. The framework displays the content before the sidebars. Making it much more efficient for search engines to read your content. It also comes with fields to input your meta description and meta keywords on all posts and pages. If you neglect to enter your meta description, Freelancer Theme will grab it from your first paragraph.

Multiple Layouts

Freelancer Theme lets you choose between four layouts when adding pages. You can choose no sidebars, left sidebar, both sidebars, or default (which is the right sidebar).

You can also configure your blog posts and post lists to display in two columns or one.

Four Widget Areas

Four widget areas are included in Freelancer Theme. There's an area for the left sidebar, right sidebar, right side of the header, and for the blog's sidebar.

Two Custom Widgets

Freelancer Theme comes with two custom widgets.

Social Profiles: Simply choose your social icon, and input your specific link or username next to it. This allows you to easily add buttons for: Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo, Flickr, Linkedin, Email and Youtube. You can choose small or large buttons, and whether you want them to display vertically, or horizontally.

Featured Spot: This widget is ideal if you want to include a newsletter sign up in one of your widget areas. It allows you to specify a title, description, image (linked if you choose), and html (where you can paste your newsletter sign up code or anything else!). Then when you save, everything is formatted and displayed for you. This widget is also ideal for an e-book download spot.

Administration Panels

Three admin pages to help you configure everything just as you want it.

General Options: 26 option fields to help you alter your site.

Some examples: Logo image, navigation position, blog columns (one or two), configure post lists and much more..

Eye Candy: 67 option fields so you can easily customize the look and feel of your website without knowing any coding!

You can alter font families and sizes, font and headline colors, background colors, links and much more!

Easy Hook: 16 (for now) hooks so you can insert html, php or anything else into certain positions on the site. No need to know how to write functions, the fields are all there for you!

Add Post/Page Options

Post Lists: One of Freelancer Themes most powerful features. When adding a page, you can choose to pull posts from one or more categories. You can also choose whether to show their excerpts, or just use the page as a post listing (which only shows the post titles, and sub headlines/bylines if you configure them). You can place the lists or excerpts into two columns, and choose how many posts you would like to show on that page. So many uses for this feature! (Pages only)

Download/Samples: A very exciting feature! In fact, this page and all of these descriptions are using this feature! It allows you to enter a title, description, image (which is automatically thumbnailed, but pops up in a fancy window when clicked), and a download link. This is ideal for listing e-books, samples, or any other kind of download. Of course, not all options have to be used. (Pages & Posts)

Search Engine Optimization: Enter meta keywords, and a meta description. If you neglect to enter a meta description, Freelancer Theme will grab the necessary description from your first paragraph. (Pages & Posts)

Post Image: You can specify a post image to show up in excerpts (blog or post list). They are automatically thumbnailed and positioned depending on your layout so they always look great. (Posts only)

Sub-Headline: Add a sub-headline to display directly under your headline. (Pages & Posts)
