One of WordPress' less talked about features is it's ability to edit images uploaded through the Media Library. WordPress allows you to rotate your image, flip it, scale it down and even crop it.
First, upload your image - or go into the Media Library and open an existing image - and then click the "Edit Image" button directly beneath the preview.

After clicking on the button, all the options will be revealed.
This tool is awesome for anyone uploading large, high quality images (maybe from a camera). You can easily scale them down so they're more website-friendly, you can rotate them and you can crop them.
In order to scale the image, you must click "Scale". This will open the scaling options.
Cropping is done by clicking the image, and then dragging your mouse to make a selection. Once you've selected the part of the image you wish to crop, click the crop button shown in the image above.
Once you've made changes to your image and you're ready, click the "Save" button.
It's really that easy to edit your images right inside of WordPress' Dashboard.

Thank you! I must have missed it somehow? I ended up taking each photo into iPhoto and resizing it and then uploading it! I'll try this - so simple when you know how? Thank you again Tom.
